Being a parent of an only child comes with all kinds of baggage and inappropriate comments and questions, especially for womb-bearing people. We discuss the ways that society pressures people to have more than one child and the ways only children are stigmatized. We dispel some of the cultural myths surrounding this family structure while we also point to the societal structures that make parenting more than one (or parenting at all) difficult for many people.
